Overview

Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), with its history of four decades of services in tourism and hotel management education, has been playing crucial role in developing human resources and enhancing the standard of quality in tourism and hospitality services by providing craft and supervisory level skill oriented trainings to cater to the demands of the industry since its inception in 1972. In 1999, NATHM launched Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) program and in 2003, Bachelor or Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM) program in affiliation with Tribhuvan University

As the industry has grown rapidly over the past decades, the need for professionally trained higher level manpower has also increased simultaneously. To cater to the present demand of the industry, NATHM has launched a two year's Master of Hospitality Management (MHM) program affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU) from 2011 and aims to produce senior level human resources.

To be established as a preferred destination for tourism and hospitality education in the SAARC region

MISSION :

NATHM as the pioneer national institution dedicated to human resource

development for tourism and hospitality sector in Nepal, will facilitate and

prepare quality human resources by improving and expanding educational,

training and research opportunities. It will thus be a ‘Center of Excellence’

for national and international student.

OBJECTIVES :

1.  to produce trained and skilled workforce required for the hotel and tourism industry;

2.  to conduct long term higher level academic programs to produce managerial level personnel;

3.  to provide consultancy and carry out survey and research for the development of tourism.

Message From Executive Director

NATHM is dedicated in producing highly potential professionals to uplift the hospitality education through practical approach. With 45 years of experience, NATHM firmly believes that management capacity and professional culture needs to be molded with strength and self-discipline. We are fully committed towards professional education and  our future managers are expected to groom their expertise with professional culture so that they can pioneer the industry with distinct superiority.

At NATHM, we offer two main disciplines, academic courses and skill oriented training. In academic front, we are offering three courses, Master of Hospitality Management (MHM), Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) and Bachelor of Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM), and is affiliated to Tribhuwan University. The courses are the best among the best in Nepal, as it has well equipped labs, sound educators and hospitable environment. In skill oriented training various courses such as cook, housekeeping, front office, bar tender, small hotel management, tour guide, trekking and rafting guide etc have uplifted the image of institution, as we are performing our business with extra caliber.

Our recent award as the best Tourism institution in the country not only entrusts us with responsibilities but also energizes us to prove our self more in the global community. With best infrastructure, faculties, outstanding environment and spontaneous support from Tribhuvan University we have more tasks to prove ourselves in the South Asia in the days ahead. With a new  star rated hotel towards completion I believe we can give justice to hospitality  teaching and learning environment in future and also keep our place safe as one of the  best hospitality and tourism  academy in the region.
